Turning her home into their new beginning
How Ruth used the value in her home to help her son find his.
A talented singer and musician in her early seventies, Ruth (not her real name*) lives in South County Dublin in a house she moved into less than a year ago. Ruth’s the first to admit that she’s been very fortunate. Years of being supported by a large shareholding in a successful business means she’s had the freedom to follow her lifelong passion for music and enjoy a great lifestyle too.
Now Ruth wants to pass that good fortune on. Her son and his family currently live with her. They’re not in a position to buy a place themselves, so Ruth decided to look into how she might unlock the value in her home to help them onto the property ladder.
